VADDY (born 24th November 2024) is a Nigerian-born, London based singer and songwriter who started music at the age of 16, he was exposed to different sounds from an early age which served as a form of therapy from traumatic experiences which resulted in him using music as a pillow and best friend; in turn consuming different styles in the different rhythms immersed in various genres, drawing inspiration from the likes of jazz, hip-hop, afrobeat, afroswing etc.
Known professionally as VADDY but born "Victor Oluwaseyi Ola-Emmnauel" UK based singer, songwriter and producer.
THE JOURNEY:
After his secondary school education in Lagos Nigeria, he moved to the UK to join his family and whilst he was in college studying for a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN MANAGEMENT with the intentions of being a Quantity surveyor, an old flame was re- ignited as if by magic in the form of a class exercise. The exercise was to write a poem titled "my life" and it resulted in the awakening of a beast long neglected as ARTS was an important part of his bloodline. His dad was a professional artist so it was only natural to discover the flair and passion for it in his DNA after moving from a country with mismanaged resources and little to no support for artistic pursuits to a more favourable environment and freedom to explore that natural resource. At the end of 2018, the artist made a radical move to go back to London to record his first ever project "Pretty Lady" with TONEStheVibemaker after moving out of London to the city of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands of England just a year before.
Success Story
Arriving in London after a whole year away to record at a friend's home built studio with the legendary producer "TonezzBeats" with a couch for a bed was a dream come through. With just £50 in his pocket and a burning desire to excel in the global music scene, money was the least of his worries, greatness was the driving force.
After complications arose in the living situation which included losing his suitcase at his friend's house which held his entire documentation, passport, degrees, certificates, clothes and other valuable resources. He bounced around from place to place; more couches to bed
bug infested beds to even sleeping on the floor of drug addicts. He eventually moved back to his mum's house in Wolverhampton with nothing but the clothes on my back to re-group. "At least I have a song now" was the only consolation that kept him going.
Further complications arose regarding the mixing, mastering and release of some songs due to a riff between himself and Tonezz resulting in the loss of some recorded songs. Having the raw version of pretty lady on his iPhone, VADDY woke up and made the radical decision of releasing "Pretty lady" un-Mixed & un- mastered.
The lesson learned from that experience he said was "A lot can hold you back in life but you can't afford to stop, take the time to breath then go again"
After moving back in with his mum in Wolverhampton, pretty lady wasn't doing the kind of numbers he was hoping to do but it still didn't deter him from proceeding with releasing the second song he'd recorded with babafizzy after leaving Sam's house titled

He tried his hands on sound engineering and beat making just so he could capture the emotions much more easily and express himself without boundaries. He went ahead to self record, produce and release an EP titled
"ViibeO'clock" which he claims "sounds like poo, but art is all about venturing fearlessly into uncharted waters with the hopes of learning how to swim or you will drown". He later released 2 more singles titled "LAIYE MI" & "DAKUN".
